Regular reading at home is essential for the development of children’s reading skills. In addition to developing their understanding and comprehension skills, reading for pleasure helps to broaden children’s vocabulary, increases their general knowledge and helps them to access other areas of the curriculum. We aim to foster a love of reading and encourage children to read for enjoyment.
Children may need support with both the process of reading and also with their understanding and comprehension of what they have read. Please click on the links below to find support in these areas.
