Thursday Blog- 18/7/24

download (1).jfifI have had such a lovely year teaching the Year 3 children. I will really miss them all. They have worked hard all year and I hope they all have an amazing break. In September, I will enjoy catching up with them again and they can all tell me all about their new journey in Year 4. I know that Mrs. Wiles and Mr. Astle can't wait to welcome them into their new classroom. Good luck, Year 3.

Thank You

A big thank you for all of the good wishes, cards and gifts. The Year 3 team feel very privileged to have taught the children and we wish you all a safe and relaxing summer break.

Summer Homework

Please see the summer homework for your child at the bottom of the class blog (in the files to download section). This will iclude some ideas for short, snappy activities that your child can do to keep up with their school work without interfering with the fun of the holidays! These do not need to be handed in next term but are simply ideas to keep the children's brains ticking over the holidays.

Courageous Advocacy

Calling all  'Agents of Change!'

We are very excited to be introducing Courageous Advocacy into our curriculum from September. This supports the ethos and values of our School and the work we already do in learning about people from different backgrounds and environments. However, it is not just about fundraising but projects that can effect change.

What Is Courageous Advocacy?
The act of speaking out against an issue of injustice, often on behalf of someone who cannot be heard.
Must be informed about an issue and move beyond knowing to saying and doing.
It takes courage!

Over the Summer, we would like you to start thinking about what you are passionate about. What could we do to as a project in School? In September our class worship will be used to share and discuss these ideas that then can be presented to the rest of the School.

A big shout out to Niah Shaw in Year who has already brought in her ideas about helping animals!
Well done!
