Visit to Euxton Library.
Phonics Homework
We have consolidated Phase 2 digraphs and tricky words in class this week and completed the Autumn 2 assessment. Please continue to practise digraphs 'nk' and 'ng' and reading the tricky words.
Show and Tell
Thankyou for your continued support with this.
Next week we would like the children to share their Christingle that they are making on Monday (see below) with you at home and talk about the meaning. They can then share this in show and tell. Please send photos via seesaw.
Library Books
The children have chosen a School Library book and will bring it home today.
Please don't confuse this with the Euxton Library book that was in their bag yesterday. The books from Euxton Library need to be returned directly to Euxton Library by the date stamped (2nd January).
Reading Books
Please ensure they are sent in every day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday if you have signed the reading record book to say they have read. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- Please help your child to practise zipping up their own coat, now the weather is getting colder and wetter.
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing
Safeguarding - morning routine
If you are dropping off your child at the classroom door/ KS2 entrance door and need to pass a message on to a member of staff please do so by speaking to the staff member who monitors the door in the morning.
If you need to enter school for any other reason, adults can only enter the school building via the main school entrance and seek assistance from the school office team. If you are attending a meeting with a member of staff you must sign in at the front desk as a visitor and have an ID lanyard.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school and children safe.
Monday 16th December: Christingle
On Monday, we will be visiting church to celebrate the Christingle service, which will be led by Years 5 and 6. During the afternoon, we are going to reflect on the meaning of the Christingle and we will make our own. Please send your child to school with one orange as the basis for their Christingle (we will provide the other items).
Have a lovely weekend,
From
Ms Lucas, Mrs Critchley and Mrs Gifford.
