Reception Blog 15.11.2024
Date: 12th Nov 2024 @ 7:51am
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
Another busy week!
This weeks lollystick challenges:
We have been using our subitising skills to identify patterns when counting.
We all followed our designs and created our Diva lamps.
Inside the curiosity cube the children identified a pair of odd socks linked to Anti Bullying week. They drew what they could see and applied their phonic knowledge sounding out and writing s-o-ck.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have completed week 2 Autumn 2 in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet.
Show and Tell
Thankyou for your continued support with this. Next week we would like the children to share their phonic homework. You could take a take a photograph and send it in on Seesaw or bring it in.
Reading Books
Please ensure they are sent in each day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday if you have signed the reading record book to say they have read. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!
Library Books
We hope you enjoyed sharing the Library book your child brought home last Friday.
Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- If your child needs an umbrella to use when walking to school please take it home after drop off as they won't use it during the school day. We have two in school that need collecting from last week!
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing!
Odd Socks Day
We wore odd socks to school and talked about how we treat each other. We designed odd socks and made a bookmark. We also took part in outdoor challenges, working together to build an obstacle course.
