Reception Blog 18.10.2024
Date: 15th Oct 2024 @ 6:11pm
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
The lollystick challenges:
Creating a transient art Autumn face.
|
Drawing the cut up pumpkins from the Curiosity Cube and writing the sounds we can hear in the word 'pumpkin'.
|
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have completed week 4 in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet.
We have introduced our second 'tricky' word this week, see the week 4 sheet in the files section to find out what it is!
Show and Tell
Thankyou for your continued support with this. The first week back after Half Term the children can share something they have enjoyed doing whilst not at School during our Show and Tell session, either by bringing in a picture or sharing a photo of what they have done via Seesaw.
Reading Books
Thankyou for your co operation with the discussion books we have sent home. Please ensure they are sent in each day as we do have Reading helpers who can listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it! After half term we will be checking who is confident blending the sounds we have learnt and start sending books with words.
Library Books
We hope you enjoyed sharing the Library book your child brought home last Friday.
Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.
Reminders
- Please send a named coat in EVERY day especially now the weather is changing.
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- If your child needs an umbrella to use when walking to school please take it home after drop off as they won't use it during the school day. We have two in school that need collecting from last week!
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we have a couple of cardigans missing!
Thankyou for your continued support.
Have a lovely half term!
