Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!

 

The lollystick challenges this week were:

 

Making leaf garlands with autumn leaves.

 

Practising forming our graphemes.

 

 

Writing about autumn objects in the curiosity cube.

Phonics Homework

Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have completed week 1 in class this week (see image below s,a,t,p). Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet. Any questions please ask.

 

Show and Tell

Thankyou for all the Autumn themed treasures! The children loved showing them and telling us all about them.

Following on from our work on families we would like everyone to bring in a baby photo for show and tell next week please. The children can talk about what they could do when they were a baby and what they can do now! Introducing the idea of past and present.

This can be an actual photo or sent via seesaw. 

 

 

Reading Books

Reading books were sent home yesterday. Each child has one discussion book in a named plastic folder with a reading record book. Please share this book with your child, talking about the pictures, characters, what they think is happening and what could happen? Please write briefly in the reading record book how your child has done. the date and sign it. We will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!

 

Library Books

Your child will also be bringing home a school library book today. This is for you to read to them! Please return by Wednesday next week to be changed on Friday.

 

Reminders

- Please send a named coat in EVERY day especially now the weather is changing.

- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

- If your child needs an umbrella to use when walking to school please take it home after drop off as they won't use it during the school day. We have two in school that need collecting from last week!
