Children's Mental Health Week 3-9th February

Next week sees the start of Children's Mental Health Week. The theme for 2025 is 'KNOW YOURSELF, GROW YOURSELF'. We will be thinking about our emotions and about what makes us feel happy, sad etc. Each class will be focusing on this theme and will be completing various related activities.

Suggested Homework Activity

Please see the files to download section for the suggested homework activity and the memory box template sheet.

Phonics Homework

Please find the Phase 3 weekly sheets for this half term in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have revisited week 3 Spring 1 in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound.

PLEASE continue to practise the new sounds each week with your child.

Show and Tell

Thankyou for your continued support with this. Next week we will be learning about Dragons. The children can create their own dragon to show or share something relating to this topic.

As always they can bring something in or send a photo via Seesaw.

Reading Books

Please ensure they are sent in every day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!

Your child will have 2 reading books tonight they will be changed on Thursday next week.

Library Books

Library books will be coming home tonight.

Please return by Wednesday each week ready to be changed on Friday.

Reminders

- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

- Please help your child to practise zipping up their own coat, now the weather is getting colder and wetter.

- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing!

- If your child needs to use lip balm could you please send it in in a named bag for the teachers to look after and oversee them putting it on.

Please note that our Phonics Stay and Play session planned for Thursday 6th February has had to be rearranged.

It will now be on Thursday 27th March 2.00pm - 3.15pm.

Have a lovely weekend,

From
