Reception Friday Blog 06.09.2024

Date: 4th Sep 2024 @ 6:59pm

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our first Reception blog of the new academic year!

The children have all been amazing and have tried hard to settle into the new routines.

Well done Reception superstars!

Thankyou to all of the children who made and have brought in their mini me! They have really enjoyed playing with them and placing them into our 'Self Registration House' each morning!

There is still time to bring yours in if you want to!

Baseline Assessment

Now that the children have had their first 3 days at school and are settling into the routines I have begun to complete the baseline activities with them. Please find a document explaining more about this in the files section at the bottom of the page. Any questions please ask.

Phonic Meeting

Our Phonic meeting will be held on Monay 23rd September at 5.30pm in the Reception classroom. This will be an opportunity for me to share with you how we will be teaching Phonics to your child and what you can do to help them at home.

Harvest

The Harvest service is being held in Church next Thursday 12th September. If you wish to send in a small donation of non perishable food these will be taken and placed on the altar. As I am sure you will appreciate as it is so early in the term Reception will stay at school.

Reminders

  • Please ensure all items your child brings into school are clearly labelled with their name including water bottles, coats and shoes.

  • Could we ask that water bottles are carried into school and not put into reading bags as we have had a few leaks already!

  • We have toast and milk every morning and provide a fruit snack every afternoon. If you want to send in one healthy snack this can be eaten intead of fruit in the afternoon.

  • Please send in a named coat each day as the weather is so changable!

  • Could each child bring in a named pair of wellies as outdoor provision is a big part of our curriculum and we try to access the outdoors in most weathers.

  • The children come to school on Tuesdays in sporty clothes and our PE day is Thursday when the children get changed into their PE kits that stay in school on their coat peg. For safety please ensure no earrings are worn on PE days.

  • We have sent out a QR code for each family to access 'Seesaw'. If anybody has any questions please ask.

Have a lovely weekend, lets hope the sun contunues to shine!
