Year 2 Friday Blog - 12th July 2024
Date: 12th Jul 2024 @ 6:24pm
Dear parents,
Welcome to the Year 2 Friday blog!
We have had another busy week. Euxton Factor auditions, science investigations and a dance day!
Homework
Well done to everyone who has spent time on both spelling frame and TT Rock Stars this week!
Reading - Reading is one of the most important skills for children to master as it unlocks their imagination and allows them to access the rest of the curriculum. Please read with your child every night. Question prompts are provided within reading books, coloured book marks and reading records. Asking questions improves key reading skills, such as retrieval and inference.
Spellings and Times tables - There is no spelling or times table quiz next week but please log on to spelling frame and TT Rock Stars to consolidate our learning.
Euxton Factor
On Tuesday, we held our Euxton Factor auditions in class. We have so many talented children and it was lovely to see them performing for the rest of the class. From singing and dancing to joke telling and taekwondo, everyone who auditioned should be incredibly proud of themselves. A big congratulations to Lily and Elliott who will all be performing for the rest of the school on Wednesday.
Dance Day
Thursday was our dance day and we had lots of fun making up moves for our names and learning a dance routine.
Thank you to Miss Anna for teaching us all and making it so enjoyable!
Our learning this week in Year 2
Maths
In Maths this week we have been working on mental methods for addition. We have been partitioning the numbers to help bridge through a ten. |
English
After reading 'How to grow a dragon' by Rachel Morrisoe, we have been writing our own set of instructions. |
