Dear parents,

Welcome to the Year 2 Friday blog!

Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, weekly spellings / times tables and lots more.

Every Friday, the blog will be shared with the class to recap our learning and make them aware of their homework. Moving to online homework has allowed us to become a more eco friendly school. Throughout the week we will be learning about the spelling rule in preparation for the quiz on Thursday. Spelling frame can be used for practise along with the spelling strategies shared on the blog below. Log in details for Spelling Frame or TT Rock Stars can be found on the inside cover of your child's Reading Record book.

Homework

There is no set homework for the Christmas holiday period.

Reading books have been sent home with the children for them to read during the holidays when they have some quiet time.

The common exception word list is shown below. The new spelling overview sheet will be sent home and displayed on the blog during the first week back at school.

Times tables- the new quiz dates will be outlined on the blog during the first week back in January.

Our week in Year 2

We have had a busy week. On Monday afternoon, we made our own Christingles in the hall with the Reception and Year 1 children.

On Tuesday, we had a fantastic time in the Infant Christmas party and everyone had great fun playing games and dancing!

We all enjoyed performing some of our songs from the Nativity play to the grandparents on Wednesday.

Thursday was a time to sing Christmas carols with the whole school. A very special time!

Friday was the time for the children to enjoy playing games and sharing their toys with their friends in class.
