Dear parents,
Welcome to the Year 6 Friday blog.
Each week you will find out what we have been doing in class, weekly spellings and times tables and lots more.
Spelling Frame and TTRS Champions
Homework
Reading -Thank you to all children who have handed their books in by Thursday, this is valuable practise in preparation for the SATS reading paper.
This week they need to complete Set C Test 2.
Spellings -From today (Friday 17th), we will look at tricky words and so plenty of extra practise will be required. Please see below for a selection of spellings and children can access their latest test on Spelling Frame.
Maths: Complete the worksheet on multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000. There is an additional copy attached to this blog. Please also play this game to help understand fraction-decimal-percentage equivalence:

Our learning this week in Year 6
English
We have enjoyed reading sections from Holes and applying our understanding of the harsh environment (from last week's learning). We have used these ideas to write dialogue to move the action forward.
Maths
This week we have applied our understanding of decimals by multiplying and dividing numbers by 10,100 and 1000.
Geography
In Geography, we have learnt how to find six-figure grid references. We also discussed different fieldwork techniques we could use for our trip to Buckshaw Village, which is next Friday.
