Our

Art

Curriculum

Our art curriculum aims to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, not only equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, but also to appreciate the works of great artists over a range of historical periods.

Progression in Art

Art is taught through the study of a range of inspirational artists, giving children by Year 6 an overview of the main historical art periods. Our aim is for children to develop their understanding of the 7 elements of art through specific skills sessions and to learn how to apply this to their artwork: as they progress through school we increase their stamina for sustained, independent artwork.
