Reception Blog 6.12.2024
Date: 5th Dec 2024 @ 10:27am
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our weekly Reception blog!
We had a fantastic time doing our performance of 'The Twinkly Nativity.'
Thankyou to everyone for supporting us!
This weeks lollystick challenges:
Our lollystick challenges have included counting and recognising numbers, building a stable for baby Jesus and retelling the story of the Nativity.
Library Visit
On Thursday 12th December we will be walking to visit Euxton Library. Whilst there we will have a story, learn all about the Library and every child will have the opportunity to choose and scan out their own book!
If your child already has a Library card please can they bring it in on the day of the visit.
Thankyou to those of you who have returned the forms for your child to get a Library card. I will take these to the Library so the cards can be made and be ready for our visit.
Phonics Homework
Please find the weekly sheets as discussed during the meeting in the files section at the bottom of this blog. We have consolidated Phase 2 digraphs and tricky words in class this week. Use the sheet however it works for you. Some people may want to print it out or just use the information to say the phoneme, write the grapheme and play games thinking about things that start with that sound. There are also some examples of words to blend at the bottom of the sheet.
Show and Tell
Thankyou for your continued support with this. Next week we would like the children to continue to share something about Advent and the build up to Christmas.
As always they can bring something in or send something via Seesaw.
Reading Books
Please ensure they are sent in every day as we do have reading helpers who can also listen to child in School. As previously mentioned we will change these books every Tuesday and Thursday if you have signed the reading record book to say they have read. The ideal is a little time spent every night looking at the book together and enjoying it!
Library Books
As the children hads eye tests this morning we were unable to change the Library books. Normal service will resume next week!
Reminders
- Please make sure hair is tied up for PE (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- Please help your child to practise zipping up their own coat, now the weather is getting colder and wetter.
- Please ensure all your child's clothes are named. Could you also check that you haven't ended up with anybody elses clothes as we still have a couple of cardigans missing
Safeguarding - morning routine
If you are dropping off your child at the classroom door/ KS2 entrance door and need to pass a message on to a member of staff please do so by speaking to the staff member who monitors the door in the morning.
If you need to enter school for any other reason, adults can only enter the school building via the main school entrance and seek assistance from the school office team. If you are attending a meeting with a member of staff you must sign in at the front desk as a visitor and have an ID lanyard.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school and children safe.
